Türk
Daniel Gottlob Türk (1750-1813) was a German composer and one of the most important representatives of the North German school of music. He wrote hundreds of keyboard works, many of which are still in print, as well as a number of operas.
Turk was an excellent teacher, and his students included some of the most important composers of the next generation, such as Carl Maria von Weber, Felix Mendelssohn, and Robert Schumann.
Turk’s music is characterized by a clear and lively melodic style, a mastery of counterpoint, and a wide range of dynamics and emotions.
