Stephen Foster

Stephen Foster (1826-1864) was a skilled composer of piano music. Stephen Foster’s piano music melodies are based on popular song forms such as the rondo, fugue, and burlesque.

The melodies of Stephen Foster’s music are not as difficult to grasp as those of many other classical composers. This is largely due to the simplicity of the song forms used by the composer, which allows the melodies to be easily remembered.
