Robert Schumann
Robert Alexander Schumann (1810-) was born in Zwickau, Germany. Although he lived a short life, he is considered by many to be the most representative composer of Romantic music, and the protagonist of an important generation of artists that includes masters such as Frederic Chopin, Franz Liszt, Richard Wagner and Felix Mendelssohn.
Schumman began his love affair with Clara Wieck, hindered for a long time by her father, but they finally got married in 1840.
Schumann composed an opera, four symphonies, several orchestral overtures, concertos for piano, violin and cello, and choral pieces.
