Gurlitt
Cornelius Gurlitt was a German composer and pianist who is best known for his work in the Romantic era. He was born in 1820 in Hamburg and died in 1857 in Weimar. Gurlitt was a student of Felix Mendelssohn and Robert Schumann, and his music shows the influence of both of these composers.
Gurlitt wrote a number of works for piano, including several sonatas, a set of variations, and a number of smaller pieces. His piano music is characterized by beautiful melodies, expressive harmonies, and a lyrical style.
