Christian Petzold
Christian Petzold was a German composer and pianist who was especially known for his keyboard music. He was born in Saxony in 1677 and died in Berlin in 1733. Petzold began his musical training as a choirboy in Dresden, where he also studied organ and keyboard.
Petzold’s best-known pieces are “Minuet in G Major” and the “Minuet in G Minor”, which are both included in the Notebook for Anna Magdalena Bach, a staple on any piano student bookshelf.
