C. P. E. Bach

Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach (1714-1788) was a German Classical period musician and composer, the fifth child and second (surviving) son of Johann Sebastian Bach and Maria Barbara Bach.

His father taught him music from an early age, and he was an exceptional student, quickly mastering the keyboard and composition. Emanuel Bach’s main instrument was the keyboard, and he composed a large number of works for it during the Classical era.
