Albert Biehl
Albert Biehl was a German composer and pianist. He is best known for his piano works and his association with Johannes Brahms. Biehl was born in Graz in 1835, and his early musical training was in vocal and piano performance.
After studying at the Graz conservatory, he began to compose piano pieces, and gradually developed a style influenced by the work of Brahms. Biehl died in 1899, after which his music fell into obscurity.
Recently, however, his works have been championed by critics and performers, who consider them to contain fresh and original ideas. Many of his works are included worldwide in piano conservatories’ syllabuses.
